چکیده

Research and development on sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels have become a prime focus for the last couple of decades. Hydrogen, one Earth's most abundant elements, holds great potential as energy carrier. However, Hydrogen is lighter than air, it does not exist in pure form atmosphere often found compounds, such water. The abundance seawater this regard makes an almost inexhaustible source energy. Nevertheless, ways extracting from water, dealing with its high corrosiveness significantly lower evaporation point, still pose research challenges. Therefore, paper aims at providing comprehensive analysis generation by focussing application electrolysis recover water rather using common reforming techniques. Different parameters affecting efficiency overall performance electrolyser process also been discussed possible solutions tackle problems are presented. Later, case study has conducted demonstrate alternative hydrogen production alkaline solar MATLAB Simulink platform used regard. This concludes that irradiation level 1000W/m2, PV array 57 parallel strings four modules connected series per string sufficient provide enough power produce Hydrogen.

Hydrogen Production by Alkaline Water Electrolysis

Water electrolysis is one of the simplest methods used for hydrogen production. It has the advantage of being able to produce hydrogen using only renewable energy. To expand the use of water electrolysis, it is mandatory to reduce energy consumption, cost, and maintenance of current electrolyzers, and, on the other hand, to increase their efficiency, durability, and safety. In this study, moder...

Urea electrolysis: direct hydrogen production from urinew

The utilization of wastewater for useful fuel has been gathering recent attention due to society’s need for alternative energy sources. The electrooxidation of urea found at high concentrations in wastewater simultaneously accomplishes fuel production and remediation of harmful nitrogen compounds that currently make their way into the atmosphere and groundwater. Pure hydrogen was collected in t...

Thermodynamics aspect of high pressure hydrogen production by water electrolysis

Hydrogen can be produced from water electrolysis which can operate at atmospheric pressure or high pressure. Today’s industry including vehicle one, devotes efforts to produce high pressure hydrogen by using pressurized electrolyser. The purpose of this work is to estimate the ideal electrical energy needed for high pressure hydrogen under high pressure water electrolysis conditions. Calculatio...

Hydrogen production from inexhaustible supplies of fresh and salt water using microbial reverse-electrodialysis electrolysis cells.

There is a tremendous source of entropic energy available from the salinity difference between river water and seawater, but this energy has yet to be efficiently captured and stored. Here we demonstrate that H(2) can be produced in a single process by capturing the salinity driven energy along with organic matter degradation using exoelectrogenic bacteria. Only five pairs of seawater and river...

Hydrogen production from proteins via electrohydrogenesis in microbial electrolysis cells.

Microorganisms can produce hydrogen gas (H(2)) at high rates by fermentation of carbohydrates, but not from proteins. However, it is possible to produce H(2) at high rates and yields from proteins by electrohydrogenesis in microbial electrolysis cells (MECs). Hydrogen gas was generated using bovine serum albumin (BSA, 700 mg/L) in a single-chamber MEC at a rate of Q=0.42+/-0.07 m(3)/m(3)/day an...
